What to Expect at Your First SCURO Party (A First-Timer's Guide)

So you've booked a SCURO party. Amazing choice. Whether it's for your child's birthday or a fun weekend out, you're in for something that's equal parts art class, glow party, and pure childhood magic. If you've never been to one of our neon art painting studios before, here's everything you need to know so you can show up, relax, and just enjoy the glow.

You Don't Need Any Art Experience. Seriously.

This is the number one thing first-timers worry about, and it's completely unnecessary. SCURO is built around the idea that every child is an artist. Our facilitators guide kids through each step of the painting process using age-appropriate templates, so no one gets left behind. From the tiniest tots to the older kids who think they "can't draw," everyone leaves with a canvas they're genuinely proud of.

The Vibe When You Walk In

The moment the lights go down and the UV glow kicks in, something clicks. The room transforms. Kids who were a little shy at the door suddenly light up (literally). Neon paint under blacklight does something to a room that regular art just can't. It's electric, it's exciting, and it never gets old watching a child see their painting glow for the first time.

Here's How the Party Flows

A typical SCURO party runs like this:

Warm-up games: We get the energy up and the nerves down with some fun, age-appropriate games to kick things off.

Art jam and/or slime session: This is the heart of the experience. Depending on your package, kids will paint their neon canvas, make glowing slime, or both. Facilitators are hands-on throughout.

Wash up: We make sure tiny neon-covered hands are clean before the next bit.

Cake cutting and food: There's a dedicated window for this. You're welcome to bring your own cake or arrange delivery. We provide all the cutlery, plates, cups and tissues. Just note that open flames aren't allowed, so go for LED candles!

An itinerary gets sent to you after booking, so you'll always know exactly what to expect.

What to Bring (And What You Don't Need To)

You don't need to bring much. We handle the setup, the materials, the facilitation, and the clean-up at your location. If you're hosting at our studio (Outram Park or Serangoon), we've got the space sorted.

Things worth bringing: your cake or food arrangements, any personal decorations you'd like, and a camera because the neon photos are incredible.

Things you don't need to bring: art supplies, aprons, stress.

A Note on Drop-Off vs. Staying

For children under 5, a parent must stay with them throughout. For ages 5 and above, drop-off is encouraged. Kids tend to enjoy themselves even more when parents aren't hovering! Parents of the birthday child are always welcome to stay. If additional adults are joining, just let us know in advance so we can account for the space.

The Add-Ons Worth Considering

If you want to make the party a little extra (and honestly, why not), here are the top-ups our regulars love most:

  • Unlimited Neon Tattoos at $5.50 per pax. Kids go absolutely wild for these under the blacklight.

  • Goodie Bags at $5.50 per pax. A lovely takeaway that keeps the SCURO magic going at home.

  • Light Up Crown at $5.50 per piece. Perfect for the birthday child to wear all session.

  • Cake Topper at $5.50 per piece. A finishing touch for the cake table.

Grab both tattoos and goodie bags together for just $10 per pax.

Our Cancellation Policy (The Important Bit)

Life happens, we get it. Just note that there are no refunds for no-shows or last-minute cancellations. If you need to reschedule, you get one free reschedule with 30 days' notice, subject to availability. When in doubt, reach out early.
